Role Overview

The Estimator I supports the estimating process by gathering and analyzing proposals, drawings, specifications, and related project documentation. This role assists in identifying labor, material, and time requirements to develop accurate and competitive project estimates. The position offers an excellent opportunity to grow within the estimating department at the main office while working closely with the construction management team.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)

  • Relevant construction or estimating experience (preferred)

  • Experience with Procore and PlanSwift (preferred)

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Project, and Word

  • Ability to collaborate effectively and coordinate workload with team members

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and related construction documents

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop bid lists aligned with project scope to ensure appropriate subcontractor coverage

  • Solicit proposals from qualified subcontractors and vendors, obtaining a minimum of three bids per trade

  • Maintain continuity throughout the bidding process by tracking and communicating addenda, updated drawings, and scope changes

  • Identify, qualify, and onboard new subcontractors and vendors using the Subcontractor Qualification Form

  • Utilize creative and resourceful strategies to secure adequate subcontractor participation

  • Enter and maintain accurate project data within estimating software

  • Thoroughly review bid requirements and follow up with subcontractors as needed

  • Prepare RFIs and clarifications to ensure complete and accurate subcontractor coverage

  • Perform detailed bid-day analysis, including scope review and de-scoping for assigned trades

  • Minimize exclusions through diligent scope review and verification

  • Collaborate with Estimating and Project Management teams to support bid turnover and subcontractor selection

  • Interface and communicate with clients, vendors, and consultants as required

  • Perform all tasks in accordance with C & C Construction Management’s processes and procedures
